World Food Awards

Lenny Henry to host prestigious foodie event



The inaugural World Food Awards (WFA) is taking place this Saturday.  An all star line-up, including this year’s host – comic legend Lenny Henry –will gather at London’s prestigious Park Lane Hilton to celebrate the best world food in the industry.

Nominees include Jamaican culinary superstar Levi Roots (pictured below) - who is nominated in two categories for his Reggae Reggae Chilled Caribbean Meals. Roots became a household name when he appeared on popular BBC programme Dragon’s Den, impressing all four business moguls with his homemade Reggae Reggae Sauce. Other nominees include Vita Coco coconut water, a brand with high profile fans including the likes of Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tesco and Walkers Sensations who are also up for gongs.

Judges on the night include TV chef and food writer Anjum Anand- who has been touted as the Nigella Lawson of Indian Cuisine, Rhavinda Bhogal- the stylish TV chef, food writer and Journalist who is just as well known for her contributions to Grazia and the Sunday  Times, and various industry professionals.

The awards will be broadcast on Sony Entertainment Television Asia and will be watched by millions in over 100 countries.
