Treasure Island at the Haymarket

The much loved swashbuckling tale returns to London

Ships ahoy me hearties! Follow the adventures of a cabin boy amidst a background of sword fighting, and rip roaring action and take yourself to see actor and comic Keith Allen make his West end debut in Ken Ludwig’s new stage adaptation of  Robert Louis Stevenson’s TREASURE ISLAND at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The classic and compelling tale sees cabin boy Jim Hawkins setting off on the Hispaniola, on the search for buried treasure. Little does he know what awaits him– spine chilling adventure on Treasure Island, and murderous struggles with Long John Silver and his cut-throat pirate band.

From playing villain, The Sheriff of Nottingham’ in the acclaimed BBC series “Robin Hood”, Keith Allen swash buckles his way across the stage to play another in his West end debut as the cunning yet lovable pirate Long John Silver. The 1883 classic by Stevenson, author of other classics ‘Robinson Crusoe’ and ‘Gulliver’s travels’ is remade for the stage with a that is sure to emulate the success of Pirates of the Caribbean, itself indebted to the author .

The production is directed by Sean Holmes (“The Entertainer” and work with the Royal Shakespeare Company), produced by Brian Eastman and Andrew Welch. With a great supporting cast, a live band and the script staying close to the original, the show promises to be a fantastic treat for all the family.
